Student Association of Wetland Scientists (SAWS) is creating a new wetlands symposium for graduate students, academics, and interested stakeholders from around North Carolina. The theme of the symposium is “Wetland Resilience in North Carolina:
Examining the ecological, political, and market climate affecting the future of North Carolina's Wetlands”. There are few good opportunities for wetland specialists in the state to interact and share research. This event will not only bring managers and stakeholders together, but also nationally recognized researchers and early career graduate students. Through this research and networking opportunity, we hope to create new collaborations and ideas for future research and management in wetland persistence and restoration in North Carolina. The event is a daylong meeting on March 4th at Duke Gardens. The symposium consists of invited speakers, solicited oral and poster presentations (open to all participants), paneled discussions, and an early evening social event. We believe this will be an innovative and important networking and research event, and we hope you will join us!
